Boomer Theater

The former Boomer Theater, a campus corner landmark, is now a retail center housing Chipotle Grill, Subway, and two office tenants on the round floor of the former Harold’s headquarters. Significant changes included lowering and leveling the sloped Theater floor to meet the existing grade for ADA accessibility, new mechanical, electrical and plumbing infrastructure, and structural modifications. Structural modifications include new openings in load-bearing walls, and the filling in of a two-story atrium space to create a mixed-use fire separation. Design guidelines were created to guide signage and awning placement. New steel canopies with backlit stainless steel signage efine the front. An adjacent building was demolished to create al fresco dining and a pedestrian connection to parking behind the building.
