Red brick, glass block, fluted glass, and warm oak woodwork are the primary materials and all tie back into the transportation tradition established by the original “Urb”. The renewed concept for the Interurban Restaurant is organized into three distinct public areas. The main dining area is a high vaulted space with exposed inverted scissor trusses providing a rhythmic element, terminated by the west wall, which overlooks a lush green space. The bar and auxiliary dining are in an area with lower exposed wood ceilings. Anchoring the South end is a sunroom with operable windows that serves as both a dining area with a strong relationship to the outdoors and the patio and as a private dining area.
