After being vacant for over 40 years, the second floor of the Hassen building is now the headquarters for the Chickasaw National Recreation Area Staff. The second floor has undergone total renovation utilizing both energy grants and the 20% historic preservation tax credits. All of the original concrete walls and exposed concrete corridor floors and ceilings are preserved. Special attention was paid to the routing of the voice, data and electrical systems to minimize exposed conduit. A new elevator and shaft, mechanical, electrical and communication systems will make this building viable for the next 100 years. The project received Best Interior Design award from OMSP.
