The City of Norman is in the process of a 35 million dollar upgrade to the existing water treatment plant.\u00a0 Barrett L. Williamson architects were selected to be part of a local engineer\u2019s team to design a 2,600 sq. ft. addition to the administrative offices and a 3,200 sq. ft. maintenance facility.\u00a0 The design solution was developed to avoid large underground water lines so the building was skewed at an angle to resolve this challenge.\u00a0 The building features a lobby, reception, staff offices, control room and large training\/conference room.\u00a0 The facility also has a rear covered deck to provide both solar shading and protection from the elements as the facility is open 24\/7\/365.\u00a0 Renovations were also made to the filter building, which is connected to the administration building via a \u201csky bridge\u201d.\u00a0 Renovations included a new larger Bac-T lab and updates to the existing lab.<\/p>\n
